“Alliances for rice production sustainability”
The
rice
sector
has
a
new
appointment
from
15
th
to
18
th
May
2018.
The
Auditorium
of
the
National
University
in
Piura,
Peru,
will
be
welcoming
participants
to
the
XIII
International Rice Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The
Latin
American
Fund
for
Irrigated
Rice
(FLAR),
Hacienda
El
Potrero
(FLAR
member
in
Peru),
the
International
Center
for
Tropical
Agriculture
(CIAT)
and
the
Rice
Research
Program
(Rice
Research
Program
by
CGIAR)
,
are
organizing
the
13
th
meeting
aimed
at
students,
producers,
farmers
and
advisors,
agronomists,
seed
and
plant
breeders,
industrialists and researchers interested in understanding the major developments of the rice sector in the region.
Under
the
motto
“Alliances
for
rice
production
sustainability”
we
wish
to
draw
attention
to
key
issues
of
our
endeavor
conducted
by
a
group
of
experts
who
will
discuss
five
main
topics:

Genetic Improvement for Sustainability
•
Sustainability for Rice Production
•
Rice Quality for Sustainability
•
Sustainable Rice Markets and Business
•
Rice and Society
We
hope
you
can
join
us
in
this
meeting
which
will
include
three
days
conferences,
panels,
posters’
presentations,
technical
and
commercial
exhibition,
as
well
as
a
great
field
trip
day across the rice valley in Piura and adyacent areas.

participants
from
30
countries
attended
the
past
Conference
in
Porto
Alegre
in
Brazil
in
2015
and
we
expect
to
outnumber
the
attendees
in
this
next
meeting
and
having
fruitful discussions regarding rice sustainability.
